Reflecting on Oktoberfest…like it was really an experience. Although when I got here…it seemed more like a State fair to me…especially since Ive been/worked half of the US fairs. I always thought Oktoberfest was a festival about beer…but it goes much deeper than that…its food, beer, Barvaian culture. There were carnival rides, thrill rides and games surrounding all the tents…food vendors scattered all over the place as well…I was fortunate enough to catch the final day and found my way into croweded tents of the major brewery houses. I guess a benifit of going there solo. Plus was on some local TV show for a few seconds…also this was one of the 1st trips in a long time where I was relaxed from the moment of touchdown. It usually takes me a day or two to get the overly distracting aspect of work off my mind and truly enjoy myself before I have to go back to work…maybe I’m finally getting it in my head about relaxing and not being so stressed and wound up…but…then again maybe it was all the beer…I did start on the flight over and it continued all day.
